THE CAUSE NEXT GENERATION PROJECT

As Los Angeles becomes an increasingly important gateway to the Pacific Rim in the coming years, local law firms and corporations stand to benefit and grow from the new business and legal opportunities that will emerge from Asia.  However, because business and law do not operate in a vacuum, our corporations and law firms must be civically engaged and politically connected. Those who understand the nexus between the legal, business and political worlds are also those who will succeed in our interconnected and global future.

The CAUSE Next Generation Project was started in 2006 as a way to help the next generation of Asian Pacific American (APA) rising stars from the top law firms and top corporations in Los Angeles to network and bridge the gaps among the worlds of legal, financial, and political power in our communities.

Participants in the CAUSE Next Generation Project are invited to become members of the exclusive CAUSE Next Generation network and its own private online directory.

Later this year, CAUSE will select the individuals with the most potential for becoming outstanding leaders to serve as its 2007-08 Next Generation Fellows. Throughout the year, CAUSE will arrange for the Fellows to meet with key political, legal, business and civic leaders for candid, behind-the-scenes looks at the complex but inter-connected workings of the different fields. There will also be a series of events and networking opportunities throughout the year.

Many of our future leaders – some of the most educated and most ambitious pool of young Asian Pacific American professionals ever in the history of this country – are working in Southern California.  Join us as we take a large step towards the creation of a network that will undoubtedly play an important role in our region in the years to come.

How do we get more APA's to become more civically active and politically involved?

We need to educate APA’s on the costs of political apathy. Many in our community may believe that their lives are insulated from politics....
