JOHN WUO

COUNCILMAN, CITY OF ARCADIA

Take 10 | Full biography

John Wuo was elected to the Arcadia City Council in 2002 and again in 2006. He served as a Centennial Mayor in 2003 and as Mayor in 2005-2006. Mr. Wuo feels very strongly that Arcadia is a unique and beautiful community. Maintaining high standards for public safety and continuing to deliver the services necessary to sustain the quality of life Arcadia residents currently enjoy are high on his list of priorities. Mr. Wuo was instrumental in the formation of Arcadia's new neighborhood safety and emergency preparedness program called ACTION (Arcadians Caring Together Improves our Neighborhoods). As a Council Member, and especially during his most recent term as Mayor, he encouraged a variety of activities that promote civic pride, community spirit and an atmosphere of "neighbors helping neighbors." John is a devoted volunteer. He encourages all Arcadians to become more involved in community activities and to donate their time and talent in areas where they have a particular interest.

Mayor Wuo and his wife Jane are long-time residents of Arcadia, and their three children all graduated from Arcadia public schools. Mayor Wuo is involved in a number of community activities and is currently on the Methodist Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, the Supervisory Committee of the Foothill Federal Credit Union and is Vice President of the Chinese-American Elected Officer's organization.
