ALBERT Y. MURATSUCHI
TRUSTEE, TORRANCE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION
Take 10 | Full biography
- 1. How do we get more Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) to become more civically and politically involved?
As a Torrance school board member, I see many APA kids who are very active in student government and service organizations. They are actively involved because, one, they have fun, two, they get to be with their friends, and three, they know that it looks good on their college applications.
Adults are not that much different from the kids. Organizations like CAUSE can provide opportunities, support, and a network of friends to help make civic and political involvement rewarding and even fun.
