TRI TA

COUNCIL MEMBER

Take 10 | Full biography

1. How do we get more Asian Pacific Americans (APAs) to become more civically and politically involved?
Through community organizations and media.  Many organizations or associations may also have internship programs to encourage others to be actively involved in the government among Asian Pacific American communities.

2. What is your dream job?
I already have my dream job.  I am so honored to serve every resident of Westminster, a city that has a population of approximately 92,000, as a council member.

3. What was your childhood ambition?
When I was a child, I wanted to be either a public servant or a writer.

4. What is the biggest challenge facing APAs in politics today?
The biggest challenge is to motivate more young Asian Pacific Americans to actively participate in the voting process.  In order to encourage them to vote, a candidate needs to explain the benefit of participation in an election.

5. What one law would you change if you could?
To offer health care benefits to every citizen.

6. What was your first job?
My first job was a student assistant in the EOPS office at Glendale Community College.

7. What one question would you most like to have answered?
When will all countries of the world live in peace?

8. What is your favorite word/sound?
Passion.  A passion to serve others

9. What was the last book you read?
The City of God by St. Augustine

10. Who/what inspires you?
My wife, Anh, and my daughter, Trianh.
