How to nominate a candidate
For full consideration, each candidate must receive the nomination of an elected official at the county, state, or federal level of government, select nonprofit organizations, or a CAUSE board member. The official needs to submit a nomination package, which includes a nomination form and recommendation letter to CAUSE by Friday, December 5, 2018. Please note: candidates are responsible for ensuring that their nomination package is received by CAUSE by the deadline.
Elected officials at the county, state, and federal level and CAUSE Boardmembers are allowed to nominate TWO candidates per year for the program: one in public service, and one from the broader community. Due to competitiveness of the program, a nomination does not guarantee a candidate a spot in the program. Nonprofit partner organizations can select ONE candidate to participate in CLI under scholarship.
Because CLI aims to provide community leadership and advocacy training for high-potential professionals with seasoned leadership experience and a passion for the APA community, we ask that you consider the following elements in your letter of nomination:
Please submit the nomination package via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, December 5, 2018 . The email subject should be titled: CAUSE Leadership Institute 2019 Nomination [NAME OF CANDIDATE].
The Selection Process
Participants will be selected based on their demonstrated leadership abilities, experience in public service, and additional community involvement. All submitted materials will be carefully reviewed by the CLI Selection Committee.
