Los Angeles, CA – The Center for Asian Americans United for Self Empowerment (CAUSE), in conjunction with Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE), the Jewish Center for Justice, and the Los Angeles Urban League, will participate in the  “Building Bridges: A Cross-Cultural Dialogue About Confronting Racism” panel hosted by the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 12:00PM-1:00PM.

“There is a tremendous opportunity for us to strengthen the ties between our communities and to work together even more closely,” said CAUSE Board Chair Charlie Woo. “The best way to fight back against hate and bigotry is to stand together.”

The recent increase in activism, from the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd by Minneapolis Police to the Asian Pacific American (APA) community activism due to anti-Asian racism related to COVID-19, shows the critical nature of the discussion and power of collaboration.

“This is about local communities working together to take matters in our own hands to build our own futures,” Woo stated. “We look forward to working with these communities and their leaders in the days and years ahead.”

In February of this year, CAUSE, HOPE, and Los Angeles Urban League formed an ongoing partnership to increase community understanding and connection to create change. This panel is one step in an ongoing public discussion about opportunities for these communities to work together.

About CAUSE
